Cheers to the Custodios!

"Cheers to the Custodios" was the chant of celebration for this crew as they danced the night away at Noah's Event Center in Lincolnshire, IL. This newly married couple, Stacy and Nick, are one of the most fun energetic couple that we have worked with. They explode with grace and gratitude towards others and the love they pour out for each other is contagious. Their contagious love was something you could feel walking into the reception where all of their friends and family gathered to celebrate. We were so fortunate to be a part of their wedding day and to now have them as a forever V&B couple!

Emma & Reed's Magical Day

When a couple walks into the Studio for a wedding consultation one of the first questions I ask them is "What have you dreamed your wedding to look like?" Sometimes I get a slew of answers but not with Emma. She wanted a wedding that was simple, green and a bit edgy. When she said something along the lines of "I love flowers that are a little funky." I knew we would make a great team creating the wedding that she and Reed had been dreaming of.

May 18th was a little dreary and rainy but it was shaping up to be a blissful wedding day! The location that the couple chose to wed was The Silver Fox which is located in Streator, IL. The Silver Fox oozes with charm. The owners have transformed an old masonic temple into a very unique event space. They even kept a couple of the fun quirks from the past such as the stairway to nowhere which literally goes nowhere....a little creepy but cool no doubt.

Emma & Reed kicked off the V&B wedding season and we could not have been more thrilled to be a small part in their beautiful wedding day. They are a couple that is rooted in the Lord and the love that they share for each other is one for the ages.

Take a peak and see for yourself!

Valentine's Day Elopement <3

Photo shoots are one of my all time favorite aspects about being a florist. It is a time where you can let your creativity run rampant and try new techniques. This shoot was nothing but extraordinary, the team (see all of them below) was out of the world and so stinking talented. It was an honor to work side by side with them all. Just look at how it all came together!

The hand calligraphy was stunning and so personal. The pieces by @willow.wynn.c (stationary) and @fabulousfancypants (paper) are not just something beautiful to look at they are mementos that you will keep forever to reminisce over.

These sweets...let me tell you about these chocolate delights! @terminator is a magician. I have never tasted anything so deliciously decadent; I couldn't stop nibbling on them. The truffles and tart were works of art, sad to cut into or take a bite but ohhhhh so worth it!

Our models - Astrid and AJ are good gooooood souls they are people you want to be around. They are so deeply in love which added to the all around beauty of the whole shoot. Everything about them was to a "T" which is in large thanks to our curators/stylists @heandshe_weddings. What can I say, the team was DYNAMITE!

@summerleighaphoto and @theofficialjosephsmith worked with such ease practically dancing in synchronicity, catching each intimate moment. It was so apparent that they are obsessed with their craft. It shows. The images (@summerleighaphoto) and video (@theofficialjosephsmith) they produced are out of this world.

And there you have it...this amazingly talented team (full list below) who made this all come together were an absolute joy not only to work with but to also be around.  If you don't follow them already do yourself a favor and do so.  If you are getting married or having a special life event call these people, they are delightfully extraordinary!!

Zach & Melissa's Winter Wedding

It was a cold winter day as we prepared for our first wedding. Filled with excitement and a few butterflies we were ready to take on the wedding that would launch the Vera & Buck brand. Winter weddings are a beautiful site to be seen. It may have been cold outside but these deep colors sure did warm our hearts. Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Gardner for letting us be a part of your wedding day!

The Beginning...

The road to Vera & Buck has been one of twists, turns, bumps and even some bruises. It all started three years ago when Christine Gorman, previous owner of Dilly Lily ( and owner of Christine Noelle Design Studio (, took a chance on me and saw a talent that I had no idea about. She invested in me and gave me the chance to work in her top-notch floral shop in the center of the Lincoln Park neighborhood in Chicago.

It took all of a one day trial day to know that I had found what the next season of my life was to be spent doing. The following day I went back to my corporate job and put in my two weeks. My life was soon to take a 180° for the better.  I was falling in love with my new job and finding so much joy in the knowledge I was learning each day and all of the beauty that was surrounding me.  One year grew into two and then three and then….I was wanting more!

I found myself not being fulfilled in just spending my days at the shop any longer.  That is when the big dreaming started.  First dreaming and then praying and praying hard. If this dream were to come true it would be by the grace of God. What was my next season in regards to flowers and my career supposed to look like?  How was I to take on this little pit of emptiness I felt? I was going through the motions. I needed to push myself and discover all of the untapped knowledge I had been missing.

Welcome to the party - Vera & Buck - my big dream, my own business. But why stop at just having a floral business? Why not grow my own product?  A little confession: I have killed every plant in my apartment except for Boris the Begonia -what a trooper he is! So the thought of growing my own product was a bit out there but I became obsessed with reading and soaking in the knowledge of starting my own flower farm.

Now enter my business partner, my mom, Lori. Seriously the most influential woman in my life. She has the biggest heart for the Lord, serving others, and loving her family and friends unconditionally.  She is Vera & Buck’s green thumb.  Our first plot has been single handily grown by her and the help of my dad, Scott.  Like, “Holy cow!” we have flowers, who would have thought!  Not only do we have flowers but we have a business.

Why the name Vera & Buck you are probably asking? Who are Vera & Buck?.  Well, they are my grandmothers. Vera , known to me as Grammy, is my mom’s mother - the most influential woman in her life.  The apple doesn’t fall from the family tree in that sense. Buck, or short for “Bucky,” is Marilyn, my dad’s mom (we will talk about him later J). These two women were not your typical 1950’s mothers. Both were working moms who loved their families completely and lived full lives of travel, hardship, deep love and loss. I am so blessed and honored to be sharing this journey of Vera & Buck with them, as they have been a big piece to the large puzzle of who I am as a person.

Back to my dad, Scott, he is my level head. We are pretty much the same person when it comes to most aspects of our lives which can get hard sometimes. I tend to do a lot dreaming on different galaxies and he has to bring me back to Earth. He is Vera & Buck’s voice of reason. I could not have done any of this without his love and full devotion to me as his daughter.

These are the people, my people, my family, who have made my large dream become a reality.  Today I am so stinking excited and scared to be launching Vera & Buck Floral Studio & Farm.  But I am honored to share my deep love of flowers and design with you.   So I welcome you to Vera & Buck, let the adventure begin!!
